East Central Volleyball is a member of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and a member of the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference (EIAC).
About the Organization
East Central High School is in southeastern Indiana, located in a small town. Athletics are a huge part of the town's identity. With a college-level swimming pool, baseball and softball complexes, a field house, 2 football fields, and 2 full-court gymnasiums, the athletic complexes are larger than the actual educational areas! Supervisor
Cassie Laker will be supervising my mentorship.
Cassie Laker began coaching immediately out of high school and has been ever since. She has coached in various roles and at a number of different school and club associations. She is a member a Certified NFHS Interscholastic Coach, is IMPACT, LANSE and CPR Certified. She is also a proud member of the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Cassie has coached at various EIAC schools, including East Central and a number of its rivals. She has had many players play at the collegiate level and/or continue on to coach. She has also had multiple all-conference, all-county, academic all-state, and all-district players throughout her career. Although she has coached several age groups, her philosophy remains the same: to build character and confidence in young girls through wins and losses that will carry them through life happily and successfully. She hopes to continue coaching and impacting the lives of all those she comes in contact with. Her biggest piece of advice on getting into the career is, "Don't give up. You'll have players and parents who won't always agree with your coaching strategy or decisions. Remember that you can always learn from the person next to you, and your instincts are almost always right."
